The Nu-Tec Universal Test Joint is designed to test the BOP stack to two different sizes in one trip. Testing down the drill pipe in the closed position, gives rigs the ability to test Top Drive, Choke Line and Valves, Kill Line and Valves, all while testing the BOP rams. With the UTJ technical design, communication with the well is not lost during the BOP test. All Nu-Tec UTJ are tested to one and half times the working pressure and are capable of having a working pressure of 15,000 PSI. When a UTJ comes in from offshore Nu-Tec disassembles and washes all parts, has all threads and components inspected by a outside inspection company, replaces all seals, and hydrostatic tests the UTJ.
