The Nu-Tec SVTS allows testing of all safety valves out of the critical path and requires no rig tongs for makeup due to its designed Nu-Tec Seal Groove. The SVTS has a working pressure of 15,000 PSI. Our standard SVTS come standard with a 4 ½ IF box and a 2" 1502 Weco. Nu-Tec has a full line of Crossovers to get you back to the connection you are using

Procedure for installing and using a Safety Valve Test Stand

Install the test stand on the rig floor close to the cement pump line and away from the rotary work area.

Weld the base to the deck. One inch welds on each corner will hold the stand in place.

Make sure the BOTTOM TEST SUB is tight on the base.

Connect the cement pump to the 1502 WECO.

Insure that the ring groove on the test sub is clean and dry. Install a Nu-Tec Seal in the ring groove and apply pipe dope AFTER the Nu-Tec Seal is installed. The Nu-Tec Seal should last for 6 to 8 tests – Replace each week or as required.

Install the Safety Valve or Inside BOP safety valve in the BOTTOM TEST SUB and tighten with large chain tongs. DO NOT USE RIG TONGS.

Test the Safety Valve or Inside BOP Valves to a low and high pressure. |
